How to Make a Black Velvet
Instructions
- Slowly pour the beer by tilling the glass a bit.
- Gently top up with a brut champagne.
Garnish
Decorate only if you are drinking to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, in which case consider a shamrock or mint leaf.

It is said to have originated at London's Brook's Club in 1861, immediately after the death of Prince Albert, husband of Queen Victoria. It was considered an appropriate sign of morning to dress the champagne with black stout.
