Did you know
In the 1800s Brithish soldiers were using tonic water to fight of malaria (but more heavily infused with quinine than it is today) in India. But as you may know, tonic water is quite bitter, so the soldiers took to adding first gin, and eventually lemon and lime, to hide the bitter flavour, thus inventing the classic gin and tonic!.
